PCB, Printed circuit board is an indispensable component in electronic devices. It mainly consists of the following parts:
Substrate: The substrate is the foundation of the PCB and is typically made of insulating materials such as glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin (FR-4). The substrate provides a mechanical support platform and also serves as insulation to prevent short circuits between different parts of the circuit.
Conductive layer: The conductive layer is usually made of copper foil and forms a circuit pattern through etching and other processes. The conductive layer is responsible for transmitting electronic signals and power, connecting various electronic components together.
Electronic components: Various electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, integrated circuits, etc. are installed on the PCB. These components are connected to the conductive layer through welding or other methods, together forming a complete electronic circuit.
Pad: A pad is an area used for soldering electronic components, usually made of copper foil. The design of solder pads should take into account factors such as component size, soldering process, and reliability.
Via: A via is a channel that connects different conductive layers, usually made of electroplated metal holes. Through holes, signals can be transmitted between different layers, increasing the flexibility of PCB wiring.
Screen printing layer: The screen printing layer is located on the surface of the PCB and is used to identify information such as the position, model, and orientation of components. The silk screen layer is usually made of white or yellow ink, which is easy to identify.
Solder mask layer: The solder mask layer covers the conductive layer in areas other than solder pads and vias, serving as insulation and preventing short circuits. The solder mask is usually made of green or other colored ink.
The various components of PCB work together to achieve the functions of electronic circuits. When designing and manufacturing PCBs, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the performance and requirements of each part to ensure the reliability and stability of electronic devices.
