HDI board (English is high-density interconnectboard) is a circuit board with high wiring density in micro blind via technology. The HDI board is divided into inner layer circuit and outer layer circuit, and the internal connection of each layer circuit is realized by drilling and metallization.
Therefore, the higher the application of HDI technology, the higher the manufacturing level of the laminate. Ordinary HDI boards are laminated once, and high-end HDI uses two, three or more lamination processes, as well as electroplating fill holes, stack holes, and laser direct drilling.
Are all PCB circuit boards with blind and buried holes called HDI circuit boards?
HDI board is a high density interconnect circuit board. After the blind hole is electroplated, the floor is pressed twice, both of which are hdi boards. hdi boards are divided into 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th order hdi boards. For example, for phones after iphone6, the motherboard uses 5th order HDI. So simply buried vias are not necessarily hdi boards.
How to identify the 1st, 2nd and 3rd order of hdi circuit board
The easiest thing for everyone to understand is that the first stage is the easiest to produce, and it is relatively easy to control in terms of parameters and technology. Level 2 and above is relatively difficult, especially level 5 is the most difficult to control.
