Copper foil is an important part of the circuit board factory design. Whether it is domestic PCB design software or some foreign Protel, PowerPCB provides intelligent copper foil function. The so-called copper injection is to use the unused space on the PCB as a reference surface, and then fill it with solid copper. This copper injection area is also called copper coating. The importance of copper coating is to reduce ground wire impedance, improve anti-interference ability, reduce voltage drop, and improve power supply efficiency.
In order to avoid the circuit board factory from deforming the PCB as much as possible during the soldering process, most circuit board manufacturers require PCB designers to fill the open area of the PCB with ground wires such as copper or grids. If the copper coating is handled improperly, the loss will exceed the profit. Is copper plating "the advantages outweigh the disadvantages" or "the disadvantages outweigh the advantages"?
Everyone knows that the distributed capacitance of printed circuit board wiring works at high frequencies. If the length is greater than 1/20 of the wavelength of the noise frequency, an antenna effect will occur, and noise will be emitted through the wiring. If the copper injection of the PCB is poorly grounded, the injected copper will become a noise propagation tool. Drill a hole in the wiring to have a "good ground" with the ground plane of the multilayer board. If handled properly, the copper coating will not only increase the current, but also play a role in shielding interference.
